Design Concept
- The exhaust design is inspired by the Toyota FT-1, a well-known Supra successor.
- The cross-shaped taillights pay tribute to the Toyota A80 Supra.
- The dual-layer wing brackets are inspired by the Toyota Celica GT-4/SS-III.
- The front splitter allows for lighter materials and quick-swap parts in future versions.
- The redesigned engine hood features a transparent panel for engine visibility and heat dissipation.
It was all started from an idea...
“Way back in 2019, this kit was originally just a concept render, inspired by the FT-1.
It was never meant to exist beyond pixels—until Taiwanese drift driver Xu Yun Tai (飄移阿公) saw it.
Fascinated by the design, he reached out and asked:
“Can this be built into a real widebody kits?”
That’s when Mars Liu, the owner of DTMRS, reached out to me.
3D Scanning
DTMRS has the right tools to make development fast and precise.
Using high-precision 3D scanning, we get exact measurements of the vehicle,
ensuring that parts fit perfectly without extra adjustments.
This speeds up the process and makes everything more efficient.
BRAINSTORMING
&
CONCEPTS
Once the 3D scan was completed, we started transforming ideas into 3D models.
We explored different styles while keeping the original shape intact.
With DTMRS’s deep production expertise, we were able to catch potential issues early—
ensuring that every design was not only visually striking but also manufacturable.
This helped us avoid the common pitfall where a design looks great on paper but isn’t feasible for production.
CNC Machining & Molding
Once the designed meshes delivered to the CAD team, they will recreated the surface and make it into CNC.
Prototype Assembly & Fitment Test
With over 50 individual parts, the next step was assembling everything onto the car—testing fitment and evaluating the assembly process.
DEBUT AT TOKYO AUTO SALON 2024
DTMRS Actually built 2 demo cars, one is for demonstration, other one debut at Tokyo Auto Salon 2024, and ready for next D1GP Taiwan event.
D1GP TAIWAN
From concept to competition—this is the D1GP Taiwan Supra in action!
